Role & Responsibilities

• Deliver exemplary, brand‑consistent customer service following Saks Fifth Avenue principles (Greet, Relate, Exceed, Attend, Thank).
• Achieve and exceed individual, vendor line, event and department sales targets through consultative selling and active client development.
• Provide professional skincare and makeup consultations, application and in‑store treatment services; pre‑book follow‑up appointments and facial consultations.
• Build, maintain and grow long‑term client relationships using Saks' clienteling tools to record preferences and drive repeat business.
• Maintain merchandising and visual standards of the apothecary counter, ensuring a clean, welcoming and properly stocked selling area.
• Collaborate with the Cosmetics Selling Manager and vendor Account Executives; represent vendor brand standards and participate in in‑house training and promotional events.
• Effectively close retail sales and manage post‑sale follow up to maximize customer satisfaction and lifetime value.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year retail experience, preferably in a cosmetics or beauty environment.
• Proven history of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and delivering measurable sales results.
• Demonstrated proficiency in professional make‑up application and treatment consultation.
• Comfortable learning and leveraging proprietary clienteling tools and online sales resources.
• Strong organizational skills, sound business judgment, attention to detail and the ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
• Collaborative team player who can also self‑manage to build an individual book of business.

Skills

Experience

Minimum one year of retail experience, ideally within a cosmetics or beauty counter environment, with demonstrable success against sales targets and experience conducting makeup and skincare consultations.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required; cosmetology, esthetician or related certification preferred.
