Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-touch customer service during fittings and consultations, modelling Saks Fifth Avenue customer service principles.
- Perform precise fittings, alterations and repairs on a wide range of luxury garments and accessories.
- Operate standard and specialty sewing, pressing and spotting equipment to produce couture-level finishes.
- Exercise technical judgment during fittings to determine appropriate alteration solutions and timelines.
- Meet individual productivity and quality targets while maintaining an organized, safe workroom.
- Adhere to all store and alteration workroom policies and procedures; support store and department initiatives.
- Contribute to an exceptional customer experience through follow-up, attention to detail and problem resolution.
- Perform ad hoc tailoring and department tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum three years of professional fitting and tailoring experience working with high‑end or luxury apparel.
- Proven ability to fit and alter a wide variety of garments to couture standards.
- Technical proficiency in specialty techniques (leather, knits, double‑face fabrics, beading, fine tailoring, buttonholes) is highly desirable.
- Ability to use and maintain standard sewing and pressing equipment and specialty machines.
- Knowledge of luxury fabrications, garment construction and styling conventions.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience
At least 3 years of hands-on tailoring and fitting experience with high-end merchandise, demonstrating the ability to execute complex alterations and specialty techniques in a retail alterations or couture workroom.
Education
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
