Role & Responsibilities
- Provide expert fitting consultations and execute precision alterations on a comprehensive range of luxury garments including specialty fabrics and techniques
- Model Saks Fifth Avenue Customer Service Principles and maintain consistent high-quality customer relationships throughout the alteration process
- Operate all standard sewing, pressing, and spotting equipment as well as specialized machines including double-blind, buttonhole, cover-stitch, and leather equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe alteration workroom environment while adhering to all company and departmental policies
- Achieve and exceed individual performance and productivity goals while supporting company and store initiatives
- Apply specialized technical knowledge in handling leather, knits, double-face fabrics, beading, fine tailoring, and buttonhole construction
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of fitting and tailoring experience in high-end merchandise
- Demonstrated ability to fit and perform alterations on a wide range of luxury garments
- Possession of strong technical background in specialty skills such as leather, knits, double-face, beading, fine tailoring, and buttonholes
- Comprehensive knowledge of alterations industry standards including fabrication and styling of luxury merchandise
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
