Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the alterations team to deliver high‑quality fittings, adjustments and bespoke alterations that align with luxury brand standards.
- Establish and maintain operational processes and workflow for the alterations department to meet volume, quality and delivery targets.
- Collaborate with the selling organization to ensure seamless client handoffs, timely alterations and superior customer service.
- Recruit, train, assess and coach Alterations Associates; deliver ongoing performance feedback and technical education on luxury fabrics and construction.
- Monitor department metrics, set objectives, and drive performance through measurement, corrective action and continuous improvement.
- Create and sustain a professional work environment that exemplifies Saks’ standards of excellence and adherence to alterations policies and procedures.
- Manage scheduling, staffing levels and ad hoc departmental responsibilities including weekend, evening and holiday coverage as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum three years of management experience overseeing operations or a service team in a comparable, high‑volume environment.
- Fitting and tailoring experience with luxury or high‑end garments; demonstrated ability to perform alterations across a broad range of apparel.
- Strong knowledge of luxury fabrications, garment construction and styling conventions relevant to designer merchandise.
- Proven track record of achieving financial and performance targets through leadership and process discipline.
- Excellent organizational, problem‑solving and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across selling and support teams.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays in line with store business needs.

At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience in a retail or service environment with comparable volume; hands‑on fitting and tailoring experience within a luxury or high‑end apparel context is preferred.
Education
Four‑year degree preferred.
