The apprenticeship comprises two phases: the first focuses on mastering foundational polymechanics skills including machining, CNC programming, dimensional quality control, mechanical assembly, and technical drawing interpretation; the second phase specializes in industrial methods, emphasizing process optimization, continuous improvement, SAP data management, and prototype industrialization.
Role & Responsibilities
- Machine and fabricate mechanical components using conventional and CNC equipment according to specifications
- Program, configure, and optimize CNC machines; create and refine machining programs
- Perform dimensional and quality verification of produced parts against technical tolerances
- Assemble mechanical elements, subassemblies, and devices in accordance with technical drawings
- Conduct basic machine maintenance and diagnostics
- Prototype and fabricate single-unit or small-series components
- Prepare materials through selection, cutting, and forming
- Interpret technical drawings, dimensions, and tolerance specifications
- Create production routings, bills of materials, and SAP data structures
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives through root-cause analysis and solution implementation
- Monitor production orders during industrialization and improvement phases
- Collaborate with production teams to analyze workstations and optimize manufacturing processes
- Maintain and update industrialization and improvement tracking documentation
- Support prototype-to-production transitions in collaboration with project leads
- Plan, observe, and analyze internal testing activities
