Role & Responsibilities
- Embody the values, heritage, and DNA of the Champagne Houses, serving as authentic brand ambassador and storyteller within the tasting venue
- Advise domestic and international clientele on the full range of Champagne categories during by-the-glass tastings and visitor centre experiences
- Animate and supervise the by-the-glass tasting area, promoting and commenting on wines while sharing the maison's narrative
- Execute order-taking and plating/service of selected dishes as required
- Demonstrate initiative and proactively identify client aspirations, proposing memorable and distinctive experiences in collaboration with sommelier managers
- Source information and resolve client inquiries, ensuring guests are never left awaiting response
- Accompany clients through the boutique and facilitate product sales
- Cultivate and strengthen lasting client relationships
- Manage cash register operations and by-the-glass revenue transactions
- Process reservations via email and telephone
- Oversee stock provisioning, inventory control, and storage organisation
- Maintain cleanliness and professional presentation of service offices and tasting areas (indoor and outdoor)
- Manage table linens and related provisioning
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and developments
- Animate internal and external representation events as needed
- Conduct tastings during visitor experiences when operational demands require
- Uphold and enforce food hygiene, safety regulations, and alcohol and tobacco consumption legislation
- Alert management to any abnormal safety conditions or client/colleague accident risk
- Coordinate team operations as designated reference point in manager's absence, where competencies permit
Qualifications
- BTS (or equivalent BAC+2 qualification) in hotel management, restaurant service, or hospitality
- Significant professional experience in hospitality, food and beverage service, or related sector
- Demonstrable passion for luxury, hospitality, and Champagne
- Fluency in both verbal and non-verbal communication
- Strong client-facing demeanour and emotional intelligence
- Ability to work effectively in team environments and take direction
Skills
Experience
Entry-level professionals or career changers; recent graduates with hospitality or culinary training; individuals with significant professional experience in food service, sommellerie, or guest relations within luxury hospitality environments.
Education
BTS (Brevet de Technicien Supérieur) or equivalent BAC+2 qualification in hotel management, restauration, or hospitality. Alternatively, substantial professional experience in the hospitality or food service sector may substitute for formal qualification.
