Ruinart in Reims seeks a Bar and Sommelier Intern at Pavillon Nicolas — internship in wine service, cellar operations and guest advising.
Role & Responsibilities
- Organise and set up the bar and back-of-house areas (mise en place) for daily service.
- Support the sommelier in wine service: present, open, taste and serve bottles according to quality and service standards.
- Execute beverage orders and table-side service from aperitif through after-dinner drinks; prepare and deliver orders taken in the dining room.
- Advise guests on wine selections and pairings, conveying the Maison’s story, values and product knowledge.
- Receive and unload deliveries of champagne, wine and soft beverages; assist with stock rotation and cellar handling.
- Contribute to cellar organisation in the main cave and assist with inventory tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness and professional presentation of the bar and service areas, following hygiene and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Bac+2 (BTS) or equivalent vocational diploma in Bar, Sommellerie or hospitality (MC Bar / Sommellerie preferred).
- Fluent French and English; a third language is an advantage.
- Rigor, organization, proactivity, professional discretion, autonomy and strong team-working skills.
- Availability and flexibility to work busy service hours; genuine interest in luxury hospitality and gastronomy.
- Previous experience in fine-dining, hotel gastronomy or wine service is advantageous but not mandatory.

Entry-level / suitable for candidates at the start of their professional career; on-the-job training under the sommelier will be provided. Previous hospitality or fine-dining experience is a plus.
Education
Bac+2 (BTS) or equivalent vocational diploma in Bar, Sommellerie or hospitality (MC Bar / Sommellerie preferred).
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Reims, Grand Est, France, with easy access to Paris.
