Role & Responsibilities

  • Prepare, organise and set up the Bar by Ruinart and associated service areas, ensuring impeccable presentation and operational readiness.
  • Support cellar operations including the correct storage and organisation of bottles in the main cellar.
  • Receive and unload deliveries of champagne, wines and soft beverages; verify and store stock according to procedures.
  • Participate in service at the Bar by Ruinart across all moments—from aperitif service through post-meal beverages—under the sommelier’s direction.
  • Advise guests on wine and beverage selections; present the house’s history, values and product stories to clients.
  • Prepare in-room orders and ensure timely, accurate delivery of requested items during service.
  • Present, open, decant and taste wines for guests, following the house’s quality standards and sommelier instructions.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the beverage and wine list to support selling and upselling during service.

Qualifications

  • Bac +2 (BTS) or equivalent vocational qualification; MC Bar or Sommellerie highly relevant.
  • Fluent French and English; additional languages considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated rigour, organisational capability and proactivity.
  • Strong professional conscience, autonomy and availability; able to work flexible hours to support service.
  • Team-oriented with adaptability to a luxury hospitality environment; genuine interest in gastronomy and fine wines.
  • Previous experience in hospitality, fine-dining or luxury service is advantageous but not mandatory.

Experience

Entry-level / beginners accepted. This internship is designed for candidates at the start of their hospitality career; prior experience in fine dining, luxury hotel or wine service is a plus but not required.

Education

Bac +2 (BTS) or equivalent vocational diploma; MC Bar or Sommelier certification desirable.
