Rolex is seeking a Technical Specialist in Geneva, Switzerland, to develop machining processes and resolve complex machinability issues in a dynamic R&D environment.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop machining processes for new materials and assist in resolving complex machinability issues.
  • Conduct machinability tests at the horological scale on milling machines and dynamic milling machines, including coatings, cutting conditions, tool geometry, and force measurement.
  • Program and operate machining and measurement equipment within a dedicated R&D cell, including CNC equipment, instrumented fixtures, and 3D scanning.
  • Propose instrumentation strategies to enhance the understanding of machining processes.
  • Analyze and identify potential root causes in problematic production situations, such as premature tool wear, high cycle times, and aesthetic variability.
  • Process, interpret, and present obtained results.

Qualifications

  • CFC in mechanics, micromechanics, or equivalent training with additional training in milling.
  • Confirmed experience of at least 5 years in a milling reference role within precision mechanics.

Skills

Knowledge of non-CNC programming is advantageous. Keen interest in exploring new machining approaches. Proactive, dynamic, and autonomous with strong team spirit. Rigorous and methodical approach. Strong client orientation and excellent interpersonal skills.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years in a milling reference role within precision mechanics is required.

Education

CFC in mechanics, micromechanics, or equivalent training with additional training in milling.
