Rolex in Geneva seeks a Technical Data Engineer to manage PLM/PDM systems and technical product data for watchmaking operations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define, maintain and govern the technical product data model across PLM/PDM systems to ensure accuracy and traceability from design to production.
- Lead PLM/PDM configuration, data integration and migration projects, collaborating closely with R&D, industrialisation, production and supply-chain teams.
- Develop and implement data-quality controls, validation rules and reconciliation processes for CAD and technical documentation.
- Design and deliver APIs, ETL processes and reporting to enable downstream systems (ERP, MES, BI) to consume reliable technical data.
- Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate engineering requirements into structured, reusable data assets and metadata standards.
- Train and support end users on technical-data workflows, best practices and tools; act as first point of escalation for data incidents.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Data Science or equivalent technical discipline.
- Proven experience implementing or administrating PLM/PDM solutions and managing CAD-derived technical data.
- Hands-on experience with data integration technologies (SQL, ETL), API design (REST) and scripting (Python or similar).
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a process-driven approach to data governance and quality assurance.
- Effective stakeholder management and project coordination skills across engineering, production and IT teams.
- Fluent French and professional working proficiency in English preferred.

Experience
Typically 3–7 years of progressive experience in product/technical data management, PLM/PDM administration or an engineering data role within manufacturing or industrial environments; experience in watchmaking or high-precision manufacturing is a strong advantage.
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or a related technical field.
