Rolex in Biel/Bienne seeks a Stamp / Die Maker to produce precision dies for watch component manufacture.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design, fabricate and maintain high‑precision stamping dies and tooling for watch components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Set up, adjust and operate stamping presses and related tooling equipment to produce components within tight tolerances.
  • Program and operate CNC milling machines and EDM equipment to manufacture die components and tool inserts.
  • Conduct finishing operations (polishing, deburring, surface treatment) to meet aesthetic and functional requirements.
  • Perform precision inspection using micrometers, calipers and CMM; document measurements and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, metallurgy and quality teams to specify materials, tolerances and heat‑treatment processes for dies.
  • Diagnose tool wear and failures; carry out preventive maintenance and timely repairs to minimise production downtime.
  • Maintain detailed technical records, comply with safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in tooling and production processes.

Qualifications

  • Vocational diploma or apprenticeship in toolmaking, precision mechanics, watchmaking or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing stamping dies, toolmaking or precision components (typically 3+ years).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T specifications.
  • Demonstrable competence with CNC, EDM and manual machining techniques.
  • Strong metrology skills and experience with CMM, micrometers and precision gauges.
  • High attention to detail, manual dexterity and a commitment to Swiss‑level quality standards.
