Rolex seeks a Special Waste Classification Intern for its Quality & Sustainability Department in Bienne, Switzerland (6-month role, 80–100%).
Role & Responsibilities
- Identify physico-chemical characteristics of special waste streams based on safety data sheets and production application scenarios
- Update OMoD codes in the SAP database to ensure regulatory accuracy and traceability
- Develop a decision tree for systematic identification of OMoD codes for special waste materials
- Evaluate waste treatment solutions against multiple criteria: regulatory compliance, occupational safety, environmental impact, cost-effectiveness, and traceability
- Contribute to the improvement of special waste sorting, storage, labelling, and disposal procedures
- Prepare a comprehensive final synthesis report with actionable recommendations
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's programme in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Sciences at a university of applied sciences (HES) or equivalent
- Demonstrated interest in environmental regulatory frameworks
- Knowledge of Swiss waste regulation, particularly OMoD provisions, preferred
- Ability to read and interpret safety data sheets (SDS) effectively
- Proficiency with standard office software, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and capacity for autonomous work

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related environmental discipline at a university of applied sciences or equivalent institution.
Education
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's programme in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Sciences at a university of applied sciences (HES), or equivalent qualification.
