Rolex seeks a Safety Officer for its Bienne facility to manage workplace safety, risk assessment, and compliance within the Quality & Sustainability department.
Role & Responsibilities
- Identify, analyse, and continuously reduce workplace hazards, including development and maintenance of hazard mappings and risk analyses
- Develop, implement, and maintain occupational safety culture through targeted actions and prevention campaigns
- Plan, execute, monitor, and continuously improve occupational health and safety initiatives
- Ensure compliance with local and federal legal requirements in workplace safety
- Train and raise awareness of employees on safety protocols, particularly during onboarding of new hires
- Investigate and analyse accidents and incidents using the 8D method, ensuring follow-up of corrective action plans
- Participate in internal occupational health and safety audits and define, share, and oversee resulting action plans
- Actively collaborate with occupational health teams and contribute to the Integrated Management System (IMS) initiative
- Define, develop, and maintain documentation of occupational safety standards
- Contribute to the definition and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment
- Monitor key performance indicators and propose improvement opportunities
- Develop professional competencies through continuous training
Qualifications
- Background in safety engineering or occupational health and safety (OHS) specialisation, or demonstrated interest in formal training
- Technical or scientific foundation, ideally in chemistry, physics, or related disciplines
- Proficiency in ISO environments (ISO 9001, ISO 45001) and project management methodologies
- Technical and scientific knowledge in chemistry, physics, electrical systems, mechanics, and related fields
- Facility with standard office applications; experience with project management software, ERP systems, and SharePoint advantageous
- Demonstrated ease in leading training sessions and public speaking
- Strong written communication, analytical, and synthesis capabilities
- Diplomatic approach, persuasion skills, and negotiation acumen
- Excellent interpersonal skills, comfort engaging with diverse stakeholders and hierarchical levels, and ability to integrate into a cohesive team

Experience
More than five years of professional experience in workplace safety within an industrial setting, encompassing large and mid-sized enterprises. Demonstrated expertise in hazard identification, risk mitigation, and safety culture development in complex manufacturing or production environments.
Education
Technical or scientific initial training, ideally with specialisation in chemistry, physics, or occupational health and safety engineering.
