Role & Responsibilities

  • Set up, calibrate and fine‑tune industrial robots and automation cells to achieve process accuracy and repeatability required for precision watch components.
  • Program and optimise robot trajectories, end‑effector operations and machine cycles in close collaboration with production engineers and operators.
  • Perform preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance on robotic systems, servomotors, PLCs, sensors and peripheral equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and control faults using schematic diagrams, diagnostic tools and measurement instruments.
  • Implement and verify machine safety measures and comply with internal safety and quality procedures (lockout/tagout, guarding, risk assessments).
  • Document setups, adjustments, maintenance activities and root‑cause analyses; maintain spare‑parts and tooling records.
  • Train production teams on correct robot operation, basic troubleshooting and changeover procedures to ensure consistent manufacturing output.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput, reduce scrap and stabilise cycle times within automated production lines.

Qualifications

  • Vocational diploma (apprentissage) or equivalent in mechatronics, automation, precision mechanics, industrial maintenance or electromechanics.
  • Practical training or certification in robot programming/commissioning and industrial electrical safety (where applicable).
  • Strong knowledge of PLC logic, electrical and pneumatic systems and the ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Proven ability to work within regulated quality environments and follow technical documentation and work instructions.
  • Good manual dexterity and experience using workshop hand tools and precision measurement instruments.
