The Research and Development Buyer manages purchasing of intellectual services and prototypes in line with purchasing strategies, collaborating with buyers and internal clients. The role contributes to supplier and contract strategy, sustainability considerations, sourcing, and contract negotiations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing within the assigned area in collaboration with the delegated buyer, series and new-product buyers, and internal clients.
- Contribute to defining and implementing purchasing and contractual strategies, incorporating sustainability considerations.
- Help define and manage the supplier panel capable of meeting business needs.
- Support internal clients through market monitoring and sourcing.
- Establish and negotiate contract terms and clauses.
Qualifications
- A buyer qualification or training in purchasing.
- At least 10 years of confirmed experience as a buyer.
- Proficiency in French and English; German is an asset.
- Knowledge of patents and intellectual property is an asset.
- Very good knowledge of standard office software and SAP.
- Versatility and autonomy, with strong analytical skills, objectivity, and rigour.
- Curiosity, open-mindedness, initiative, and the ability to bring people together, collaborate, and take initiative in multidisciplinary teams.
