Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the production quality function across assigned manufacturing sites, including supervision of quality inspectors and technicians.
- Define, implement and maintain quality control and assurance procedures, standards and inspection plans for watch components and assemblies.
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (8D/CAPA) for production non-conformities and quality incidents.
- Coordinate cross-functional problem solving with engineering, production, supply-chain and supplier quality to ensure product conformance and on-time resolution.
- Develop and monitor quality KPIs (yield, scrap, first-pass yield, customer rejects) and report performance to senior management.
- Plan and lead internal audits and supplier quality audits; ensure compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
- Oversee metrology and inspection capability (CMM, optical comparators, gauges) and ensure calibration and document control are maintained.
- Promote continuous improvement projects using structured methodologies (FMEA, SPC, APQP) to enhance process capability and reduce variation.
- Manage change control for tooling, processes and specifications with appropriate validation and sign-off.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, materials science or horology; advanced degree or specialist horology qualification advantageous.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing quality teams in precision manufacturing, ideally within watchmaking or micro-mechanics.
- Proven competence in quality systems and methodologies: ISO 9001, FMEA, SPC, APQP/PPAP, 8D and CAPA.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience in root-cause analysis and problem-solving tools.
- Familiarity with metrology equipment and inspection techniques (CMM, surface measurement, optical inspection).
- Professional level of discretion, documentation discipline and ability to work within a regulated, high-precision production environment.

Experience
Several years of progressive experience in quality assurance/control within precision manufacturing; prior exposure to watchmaking or micro-mechanics is strongly preferred, with at least some supervisory or managerial responsibility.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, materials science or horology; advanced degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
