Rolex is hiring a Production Planner in Biel/Bienne. Lead master scheduling and capacity planning for precision watch manufacturing.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain master production schedules to meet internal targets and client commitments within a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Translate demand signals into detailed shop-floor plans, balancing capacity constraints, lead-times and component availability.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with procurement, quality, engineering and workshop teams to resolve planning conflicts and expedite critical orders.
  • Perform capacity planning and resource levelling to optimise throughput while protecting artisanal quality standards.
  • Manage inventory buffers, safety stock policies and replenishment cycles to minimise stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Monitor planning KPIs (e.g., OTIF, lead time adherence, schedule attainment) and drive corrective actions through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implement and sustain planning routines within MRP/ERP frameworks, including work order creation, routing and prioritisation.
  • Support production changeovers and sequencing for complex assemblies to minimise downtime and maintain traceability.

Qualifications

  • Degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management, production management or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience in production planning or scheduling within precision manufacturing or a complex assembly environment.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience using planning methods (MPS, demand forecasting, capacity planning).
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and drive operational decisions in a matrix organisation.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
