Role & Responsibilities
- Collect and analyse shop‑floor data to characterise current production flows and identify process bottlenecks.
- Develop and calibrate discrete‑event simulation models to represent assembly lines and sub‑processes.
- Run scenario analyses to evaluate throughput, takt time, WIP and resource utilisation under alternative layouts and staffing strategies.
- Validate model outputs against empirical data and perform sensitivity analyses to quantify risks and gains.
- Synthesize findings into actionable recommendations for process improvements, layout changes and scheduling adjustments.
- Prepare clear technical reports and present results to production engineers, workshop managers and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Research or a closely related discipline.
- Strong analytical mindset with demonstrable coursework or project experience in process modelling or operations analysis.
- Practical experience building and validating simulation models (academic projects or internships).
- Advanced spreadsheet skills and ability to manage and cleanse operational data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical results into pragmatic shop‑floor recommendations.
- Autonomous, detail oriented and comfortable working in production environments.
