Role & Responsibilities

• Assume overall responsibility for the IT project portfolio within the assigned scope
• Ensure portfolio steering, consolidated monitoring, and performance management of projects, products, and requests including status, milestones, resource allocation, prioritisation, and alerts
• Prepare, secure, and facilitate portfolio governance bodies: agendas, supporting documentation, topic quality, and decision tracking
• Ensure follow-up of decisions, arbitrations, and action plans emanating from governance bodies
• Guarantee data quality, reliability, completeness, and currency within portfolio reference systems
• Produce, disseminate, and ensure consistency of reporting and analyses for IT leadership, governance bodies, and business units
• Identify risks, variances, bottlenecks, and topics requiring escalation; escalate as necessary
• Supervise contributions from support PMO teams
• Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to portfolio steering and operational processes
• Consolidate and analyse portfolio performance through key indicators including timelines, budget, resource allocation, satisfaction, and business value
• Identify, report, and track variances, risks, obstacles, and associated action plans
• Cultivate stakeholder relationships; ensure communication flow between project teams, governance bodies, and business units
• Conduct end-of-project satisfaction assessments and identify improvement opportunities
• Contribute to capacity planning and performance indicator enhancement initiatives

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent, ideally in information systems, project management, management, IT, or a related field; project management, portfolio management, or IT governance certification is valued
• Confirmed experience of at least five years in IT project portfolio steering
• Mastery of IT portfolio steering methodologies, practices, and tools
• Experience in preparing, facilitating, and monitoring governance bodies
• Proficiency in project tracking including progress, milestones, resource allocation, costs, budgets, risks, and dependencies
• Ability to consolidate and analyse portfolio data and produce reporting, dashboards, and performance indicators
• Capability to analyse variances, identify alerts, propose appropriate action plans, prioritise requests, and contribute to capacity planning
• Comfort coordinating and engaging with diverse profiles including IT teams, project managers, operational contributors, and business stakeholders
• Experience in supervising and overseeing operational contributions whilst maintaining control of the final deliverable
• Proficiency with SAP-PPM, Monday, office tools (Excel, PowerPoint), and reporting platforms
• Rigour, reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to data quality in processing, analysis, and information management
• Autonomy in organising and executing activities and proactivity in identifying risks, variances, arbitration requirements, and improvement opportunities
• Interpersonal ease, diplomacy, assertiveness, and ability to escalate blockers constructively
• Steering posture, facilitation capability, synthetic thinking, and aptitude for communicating clear, structured messages
• Listening orientation, service-client mindset, priority management, and ability to operate in cross-functional environments

Experience

Confirmed experience of at least five years in IT project portfolio steering, including proficiency in portfolio governance methodologies, project tracking, and multi-stakeholder coordination.

Education

Master's degree or equivalent, ideally in information systems, project management, management, IT, or a related field. Project management, portfolio management, or IT governance certification is valued.
