Role & Responsibilities
- Learn and perform precision machining operations (turning, milling) under supervision to produce high-tolerance components for mechanical watches.
- Assist in CNC setup, tool selection and basic programming while following established production routes and work instructions.
- Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges; coordinate measuring machines) to inspect parts and ensure conformance to drawings.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications; mark, deburr and finish components to required tolerances.
- Participate in vocational school coursework and on-the-job training to achieve the Swiss Federal VET Diploma (EFZ) in polymechanics.
- Maintain workplace order, perform routine machine maintenance and adhere to health, safety and quality procedures.
- Document work steps, record measurements and cooperate with engineers and skilled machinists to continuously improve processes.
Qualifications
- Completed compulsory schooling with strong results in mathematics and technical/practical subjects.
- Manual dexterity, fine motor skills and a pronounced interest in mechanical systems and precision manufacturing.
- Willingness to undertake a multi-year vocational training program and attend vocational school as required by the EFZ curriculum.
