Rolex in Geneva seeks a Polisher to hand-finish cases and bracelets; precision metal-finishing role at a leading Swiss watch manufacturer.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform precision hand and machine polishing of watch cases, bracelets and small metal components to meet Rolex surface-finish standards.
  • Execute satin, mirror and brushed finishes using polishing lathes, buffing wheels, abrasive papers and polishing compounds.
  • Carry out visual and microscopic inspection to detect surface defects and ensure conformity with dimensional and aesthetic tolerances.
  • Prepare and clean components before and after finishing (degreasing, ultrasonic cleaning, rinsing) following prescribed procedures.
  • Maintain polishing equipment, wheels and consumables; monitor tooling wear and request replacements to preserve finish consistency.
  • Document work performed and traceability details in production records; escalate non-conformities to the supervisor.
  • Collaborate closely with case makers, watchmakers and quality control to resolve finish-related issues and implement continuous-improvement measures.
  • Adhere strictly to health, safety and environmental procedures related to chemical use, machine operation and ergonomics.

Qualifications

  • Vocational diploma or completed apprenticeship in micro-mechanics, metalworking, watchmaking or a related precision-trades programme preferred.
  • Demonstrable manual dexterity and excellent hand–eye coordination.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to achieve consistent high-quality surface finishes.
  • Familiarity with metallurgical properties of stainless steel, gold alloys and plated finishes is advantageous.
  • Ability to work from technical drawings and finish specifications.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts or production schedules as required by the atelier.
