Rolex in Geneva seeks a New Product Engineer to lead watch product development and industrialization for haute horlogerie.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end new product development projects from conceptual design through prototyping, validation and industrialization for mechanical watch components and assemblies.
- Define technical specifications, performance targets and manufacturing constraints in close collaboration with design, movement development, production and quality assurance teams.
- Coordinate cross‑functional project teams, external suppliers and ateliers to ensure timely delivery, cost control and conformity to internal quality standards.
- Manage prototype iterations, test plans and validation campaigns (mechanical, environmental and regulatory), and translate results into robust production processes.
- Drive design for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA) improvements, implement geometric tolerancing (GD&T) and support tooling, fixturing and process development.
- Produce and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, process flows and technical change control records.
- Train and support manufacturing and assembly teams during ramp‑up and transfer to series production; participate in continuous improvement and failure analysis activities.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Microengineering, Materials Science or equivalent technical discipline.
- Proven experience in new product development and industrialization within precision mechanics or watchmaking (typically 3+ years).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, GD&T and experience with prototyping and test validation methods.
- Experience liaising with suppliers and managing multi‑disciplinary project teams; demonstrable project management capability.
- Fluent French and professional working knowledge of English (oral and written) to operate in a bilingual technical environment.

Several years of hands‑on experience in product development and industrialization within precision engineering or horology, including prototype management, supplier coordination and transfer to production.
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Microengineering, Materials Science or equivalent.
