Role & Responsibilities
- Define operational usage scenarios and translate customer expectations into measurable engineering requirements for micro‑scale components.
- Design and execute experimental protocols to simulate service conditions (thermal cycles, humidity, shock, vibration, magnetic exposure, wear).
- Characterize components and materials using precision metrology and microscopy; produce quantitative performance and degradation data.
- Develop test plans, maintain test benches, and ensure adherence to laboratory procedures and safety standards.
- Analyze experimental results using statistical methods, identify root causes of failure or wear, and propose corrective design or process recommendations.
- Document findings in technical reports and present results to cross‑functional engineering teams (design, production, quality).
- Collaborate with watchmakers, materials engineers and manufacturing teams to align test outcomes with producibility and serviceability constraints.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in microengineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, applied physics, watchmaking engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Practical laboratory experience with characterization techniques and test equipment; prior internship or academic project work preferred.
- Strong written and verbal technical communication, and the ability to synthesize experimental data into actionable recommendations.
- Rigorous attention to detail, systematic approach to testing and a professional attitude toward documentation and traceability.

Practical laboratory experience is expected, demonstrated through prior internships, research projects or hands‑on coursework involving component characterization, metrology or environmental testing. Familiarity with precision assembly environments is advantageous.
