Rolex in Geneva seeks a Methods Technician — Automatic Termination (mid-level) to optimise automated assembly processes and ensure manufacturing excellence.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop, document and optimise methods for automatic termination and automated assembly processes used in movement and component production.
- Design and validate machine setups, tooling and fixtures for automatic termination equipment; conduct pilot runs and capability studies.
- Produce clear work instructions, process sheets and visual aids to ensure repeatable, auditable production steps and traceability.
- Implement process control systems and statistical process control (SPC) to monitor yields, first-pass quality and machine performance.
- Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, R&D and quality teams to resolve process deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Lead continuous-improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, value-stream mapping) to reduce cycle time, scrap and downtime.
- Train and support operators on new processes and equipment, and transfer process knowledge to shopfloor teams.
- Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and external regulatory or certification requirements (traceability, documentation).
Qualifications
- Vocational diploma or degree in micro-mechanics, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or equivalent technical qualification.
- Proven experience with automated assembly and termination equipment, preferably within precision manufacturing or watchmaking.
- Hands-on experience with CNC machining and PLC-controlled production equipment.
- Practical knowledge of process validation, SPC and root-cause problem solving (8D, Ishikawa, 5 Whys).
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).

Experience
Typically 3+ years in process or methods engineering within precision manufacturing, automation or watchmaking environments, with demonstrable achievements in process optimisation and equipment validation.
Education
Vocational diploma (e.g., CFC) in micro-mechanics/watchmaking, or a tertiary degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics or a related discipline.
