Rolex in Geneva seeks a Methods Engineer — Stamping to define and optimise metal stamping processes for precision watch components.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Define, document and validate manufacturing methods for metal stamping operations used in production of watch components.
  • Translate product drawings and specifications into robust stamping process plans, tooling requirements and work instructions.
  • Design and specify progressive dies, punches and related tooling in collaboration with toolmakers and external suppliers.
  • Plan and supervise trials, pilot runs and process validations; adjust parameters to achieve required tolerances and surface finishes.
  • Implement continuous-improvement initiatives to increase first-pass yield, reduce cycle times and lower manufacturing costs.
  • Perform root-cause analysis of process failures and non-conformities; implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, production, quality control and supply chain to ensure manufacturability and on-time ramp-up of new parts.
  • Train operators and production teams on stamping methods, machine set-up and safe working practices; produce and maintain technical documentation.

Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or degree in mechanical engineering, micro‑mechanics, toolmaking or an equivalent vocational qualification.
  • Strong understanding of metal forming, stamping press technology and die construction.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T specifications.
  • Experience performing process validation, capability studies and root-cause analysis (8D/FMEA methodology).
  • Professional maturity to liaise with internal stakeholders and external tool suppliers.
