Rolex — Geneva: Mechanical Engineering internship to optimise ultrasonic pressing parameters for watch components. 4–6 month position.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design fixtures and holding systems to enable ultrasonic extraction/ejection of watch components with controlled decentring.
  • Define and implement an experimental plan (DOE) covering relevant process parameters.
  • Perform laboratory tests and measure/evaluate ejection (chassing) forces under varying conditions.
  • Analyse statistical influences on process outcomes and identify key factors.
  • Develop a predictive model to forecast process behaviour and establish the optimal operating window.
  • Validate model predictions with practical case studies representative of target production situations.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Master's programme in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Solid knowledge of general mechanics and mechanical design principles.
  • Proficiency in statistical methods and experimental design.
  • Comfortable working with and handling very small, precision components.
  • Autonomous, rigorous and highly meticulous; strong attention to detail.
  • Availability for a 4–6 month internship.

Experience
