Rolex in Biel/Bienne seeks a Master Data Technician — Mechanical to create and maintain article master data and support technical teams.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define and document master data governance rules for article records within the mechanical domain.
- Design and implement the article creation workflow and maintain clear documentation of management rules and data flows.
- Create, update and archive article master data for the mechanical perimeter in the company’s information systems.
- Support technical offices and methods teams in creating and modifying data across enterprise applications.
- Perform regular data quality audits and coordinate corrective action plans with relevant stakeholders.
- Provide training and user support for mechanical teams on master data processes and tools.
- Contribute data expertise to cross-functional projects involving master data and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure consistency and maintenance of master data within the resource article management perimeter; author work instructions and extract required data.
Qualifications
- Federal VET diploma (CFC) in mechanics or an equivalent recognised technical qualification.
- Several years of practical experience in master data management or data administration, ideally within a mechanical or manufacturing environment.
- Proven knowledge of enterprise information systems and associated tools: SAP, Ardecco, PLM and BI.
- Fluency with MS Office (Excel) and ability to produce clear work instructions and documentation.
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills, with a methodical, rigorous and detail-oriented approach.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable leading meetings and driving continuous-improvement projects.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, complex organisational environment and to provide user training/support.

Several years of hands-on experience in master data management or data administration, preferably within mechanical engineering, manufacturing or industrial production environments.
Education
CFC (Federal VET diploma) in mechanics or equivalent vocational/technical qualification.
