Rolex is hiring a Machine Operator in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland — precision manufacturing role within the watchmaking production team.
Role & Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor and adjust precision production machinery to manufacture watch components or assemblies according to specifications.
- Set up machines and change tooling, perform first-off checks and control in-process quality using micrometric and visual inspection techniques.
- Follow technical drawings, production orders and work instructions to meet dimensional and cosmetic standards.
- Document production data, maintain accurate logbooks and report deviations or machine faults to maintenance/engineering.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting to ensure machine uptime and consistent output.
- Adhere strictly to safety, quality and clean-room procedures; contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Vocational diploma or apprenticeship in machining, watchmaking, mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Demonstrable manual dexterity and strong attention to detail suitable for precision micro-manufacturing.
- Ability to read technical drawings and apply dimensional tolerances.
- Basic numeracy and familiarity with precision measuring instruments (micrometer, caliper, gauge).
- Willingness to work in a shift system if required and to undertake on-the-job training.
Skills
Experience
Preferably 1–3 years of experience in precision manufacturing or watchmaking environments; candidates with relevant apprenticeships and demonstrable hands-on competence will be considered.
Education
Vocational certificate or apprenticeship in machining, watchmaking, mechanical engineering or equivalent; on-the-job training provided.
