Rolex in Geneva seeks a Local Manager — Building Services Engineering (HVAC) to lead HVAC design and site engineering for its technical facilities.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the bureau d'études for building services (HVAC, plumbing, mechanical systems), acting as the primary on‑site engineering contact.
- Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary local engineering team and coordinate external consultants and subcontractors.
- Oversee design reviews, technical studies, specifications and drawings for HVAC and related MEP systems, ensuring compliance with Swiss regulations and internal standards.
- Plan, supervise and commission mechanical installations and building management systems (BMS/BEMS) across production and support sites.
- Coordinate capital projects and maintenance interventions with production, quality and safety stakeholders to minimise operational disruption.
- Control project budgets, schedules and procurement for technical contracts and vendor deliverables.
- Implement energy‑efficiency initiatives and participate in sustainability and lifecycle‑cost assessments for building systems.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety and environmental policies in all engineering activities and site work.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services (MEP) or equivalent; master's degree preferred.
- Proven track record in building services design and project management, ideally within precision manufacturing or highly regulated facilities.
- Experience supervising engineers and contractors on HVAC, BMS and commissioning activities.
- Strong understanding of Swiss building regulations, codes and industry best practices for MEP systems.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules and technical procurement for medium to large capital projects.
- Fluent working knowledge of French and professional English for cross‑functional collaboration.
Skills
Experience
Typically 7+ years in building services or mechanical engineering with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or site management capacity; experience in luxury manufacturing, pharmaceuticals or high‑precision industrial environments is advantageous.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Building Services Engineering (Master's preferred). Professional engineering accreditation desirable.
