Role & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and validate laboratory test methods and protocols tailored to mechanical and material testing requirements.
  • Execute experiments and test campaigns, collect and analyse quantitative data to assess component and finished‑product performance.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and draft standard operating procedures (SOPs) and validation documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, watchmakers and quality teams to translate test results into actionable recommendations.
  • Ensure proper calibration, maintenance and traceability of laboratory instrumentation and maintain accurate laboratory records.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimise test throughput, repeatability and measurement uncertainty.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's programme in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related scientific/technical discipline.
  • Prior laboratory experience through academic projects, internships or industrial placements, with demonstrable familiarity with basic analytical techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail, methodical approach to experimental work and commitment to rigorous documentation.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills for preparation of technical reports and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Awareness of laboratory safety practices and basic metrology principles.
