Rolex (Geneva) seeks an Industrialization Group Manager to lead production transfer and industrialization of precision watch components.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary industrialization group responsible for transferring new movements, components and assemblies from development to serial production.
- Define and execute industrialization roadmaps: production ramp-up, process qualification, transfer plans and product lifecycle transitions.
- Design and optimize manufacturing processes for precision watch components using DFM/DFX principles to ensure repeatability, yield and cost targets.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (R&D, quality, supply chain, procurement, tooling, production and external suppliers) to align on specifications, timing and industrial readiness.
- Establish and monitor KPIs related to quality, throughput, scrap, first-pass yield and time-to-production; implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage supplier industrialization and qualification activities, including tooling validation, pilot runs and supplier capability development.
- Own industrial standards, production documentation and handover packages (work instructions, control plans, PFMEA) required for serial manufacturing.
- Lead hiring, coaching and performance management for the industrialization team while fostering a culture of problem solving and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- Proven leadership record managing engineering teams in an industrialization, production engineering or manufacturing transfer role.
- Deep understanding of DFM/DFX methodologies, process validation, PFMEA, control plans and statistical process control.
- Experience with precision manufacturing environments; prior exposure to watchmaking, micro-mechanics or fine mechanics is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with CAD/PLM tools and familiarity with production ERP/ MES systems.
Skills
Experience
Extensive experience in industrialization or production engineering with demonstrated results in transferring complex products to serial manufacture. Preferably 8+ years in precision manufacturing environments, including progressive people management responsibilities; direct experience in watchmaking or micro-mechanics is an advantage.
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
