Rolex Geneva — Industrial Sustainability Intern: analyse and reduce environmental impact of manufacturing activities. Internship based in Geneva, Switzerland.
Role & Responsibilities
- Collect, validate and analyse environmental data across production sites (energy, water, emissions, waste) to quantify current impacts.
- Support and conduct life cycle assessment (LCA) or carbon footprint calculations for selected products or processes.
- Identify operational hotspots and develop pragmatic mitigation measures to reduce environmental footprint within industrial operations.
- Prepare technical reports, dashboards and presentations for internal stakeholders (manufacturing, facilities, quality, EHS).
- Contribute to implementation planning and monitoring of improvement measures, including KPI definition and tracking.
- Benchmark best practices in industrial sustainability and propose targeted adoption of technologies or process changes.
- Liaise with cross‑functional teams and, where relevant, suppliers to gather data and align on improvement actions.
- Support preparation of regulatory or voluntary reporting inputs related to environmental performance.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's final year or master's programme in environmental engineering, industrial engineering, sustainability, environmental science or a closely related discipline.
- Strong quantitative aptitude with experience in environmental data analysis, modelling or LCA methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Autonomous, methodical and pragmatic approach with strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Familiarity with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001) and sustainability frameworks is advantageous.

Experience
Previous internship experience or academic project work related to industrial sustainability, environmental assessment, or manufacturing operations is preferred but not mandatory. The role is suitable for candidates with limited professional experience seeking practical exposure to environmental management in a high‑precision manufacturing environment.
