Rolex seeks a Health, Safety and Environment Coordinator in Bienne, Switzerland to manage workplace safety, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance in manufacturing.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and sustain a culture of workplace safety through targeted initiatives and prevention campaigns
  • Plan, execute, control, and continuously improve workplace safety procedures and processes
  • Ensure compliance with local and federal workplace safety and environmental regulations
  • Train and sensitize employees to safety protocols, particularly during onboarding of new staff
  • Investigate and analyse accidents and incidents using 8D methodology and monitor corrective action plans
  • Participate in internal occupational health and safety audits; define, communicate, and oversee resulting action plans
  • Collaborate actively with occupational health teams and contribute to the Integrated Management System implementation
  • Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive health and safety documentation
  • Deliver training and communicate all information relating to occupational health and safety
  • Conduct hazard assessments by zone and contribute to the implementation of mitigation measures
  • Engage employees in hazard identification at workstations and in taking corrective measures
  • Ensure the availability of relevant safety standards and protocols
  • Monitor occupational health and safety events and performance metrics
  • Follow up on audit action plans and participate in audits, investigations, and exercises with the health and safety team

Qualifications

  • Background as a safety engineer, health and safety officer, or occupational health and safety specialist, or demonstrated interest in developing expertise in this field
  • Initial technical or scientific education, ideally in chemistry or physics
  • Minimum five years of professional experience in workplace safety within an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Mastery of ISO environments (ISO 9001, ISO 45001) and project management methodologies
  • Foundational technical and scientific knowledge in chemistry, physics, electrical systems, mechanics, and related disciplines
  • Proficiency with standard office software, project management tools, ERP systems, and SharePoint
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver training and speak effectively in public forums
  • Strong written communication skills with proven analytical and synthesis capabilities
  • Dynamic, solution-oriented, well-organized, autonomous, rigorous, and pragmatic mindset
  • Diplomatic approach with persuasion and negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening abilities; comfortable engaging with colleagues at all hierarchical levels and aptitude for integration into cohesive teams
