Rolex in Geneva seeks a Green Spaces Manager to oversee the company’s landscaped areas, horticulture operations and grounds team.
Role & Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and oversee the maintenance, improvement and seasonal programming of all vegetated and landscaped areas across the site(s).
- Manage a team of grounds and horticultural staff, including recruitment, training, scheduling and performance management.
- Develop and implement planting schemes, pruning schedules and turf management plans that align with the brand’s aesthetic and sustainability goals.
- Specify, operate and maintain irrigation systems, soil amendments and groundskeeping machinery; coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Supervise external contractors and suppliers for landscaping, tree surgery, pest control and specialised works; prepare and manage scopes of work and contracts.
- Control budgets for materials, plant procurement and third-party services; monitor costs and approve purchases within delegated authority.
- Ensure compliance with local environmental, safety and chemical-use regulations, and maintain accurate records for permits, treatments and waste disposal.
- Collaborate with facilities, security and workplace teams to integrate landscape projects with site infrastructure and events, and to protect operational continuity.
- Champion biodiversity and sustainability initiatives on site, including native planting, water conservation and pollinator habitats.
Qualifications
- Professional qualification in horticulture, landscape management, agronomy or a closely related discipline (vocational diploma, technical degree or bachelor’s degree).
- Certification or demonstrable knowledge of pesticide regulations, safe chemical handling and integrated pest management where applicable.
- Valid training/certification for operation of grounds machinery (e.g. tractors, mowers, chainsaws) and for safe working at height if required.
- Proven ability to prepare budgets, manage purchase orders and control third-party contracts.
- Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills with a strong emphasis on team development and cross-department collaboration.
Skills
Experience
Several years (typically 3–7+) of progressive experience in landscape or grounds management, including direct supervisory responsibility and experience managing external contractors and budgets for medium-to-large sites.
Education
Vocational diploma, technical degree or bachelor's degree in horticulture, landscape architecture, agronomy or a related field; professional certifications in pesticide handling or grounds equipment operation preferred.
