Rolex — Geneva: Fluid Mechanics Intern (internship) supporting CFD simulations and experimental testing in watch engineering.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support engineering teams in the development, setup and execution of CFD simulations to characterise airflow, lubrication and micro-scale fluid behaviour in watch components.
  • Contribute to experimental test campaigns: design and operate bench tests, perform leak/pressure measurements and collect high-fidelity data under controlled conditions.
  • Analyse and visualise simulation and test results; produce reproducible data sets, technical charts and concise engineering reports.
  • Collaborate with mechanical design and materials teams to translate fluid-behaviour findings into design recommendations and validation plans.
  • Maintain laboratory and test equipment according to quality and safety protocols; ensure traceability of results within documented procedures.

Qualifications

  • Current enrolment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Aeronautical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
  • Solid theoretical foundation in fluid mechanics, thermofluid phenomena and numerical methods.
  • Proficiency in CFD and experimental methods with demonstrated coursework or project experience.
  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to synthesise technical results into clear recommendations.
  • Proficiency in French and English (written and spoken) is desirable for cross-functional collaboration.

Experience

Academic project experience or prior internships involving CFD simulation and/or experimental fluid testing; hands-on exposure to test-bench instrumentation and data acquisition is highly advantageous. This is an educational internship intended for candidates currently enrolled in a relevant degree programme.

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Aeronautical Engineering or a closely related field.
