Rolex — Electroplating Maintenance Technician in Geneva. Responsible for maintenance of plating lines, bath chemistry control and PLC troubleshooting.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on electroplating lines, tanks, filters, pumps and associated mechanical, pneumatic and electrical equipment.
- Monitor and adjust plating-bath chemistry (pH, conductivity, concentration) and maintain accurate process records to assure surface quality and process repeatability.
- Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, motor drives, instrumentation and control systems used in plating and surface-treatment processes.
- Manage replenishment and handling of consumables (anodes, plating solutions, filtration media) and coordinate safe disposal of hazardous waste in compliance with environmental and safety requirements.
- Execute planned maintenance schedules, produce maintenance reports, and recommend process or equipment improvements to increase uptime and yield.
- Collaborate with production, quality and engineering teams to support new process qualifications, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide on-the-job coaching to operations personnel on correct equipment operation, basic troubleshooting and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Vocational diploma or apprenticeship in electromechanics, industrial maintenance, chemical engineering technology or equivalent technical training.
- Demonstrable knowledge of electrochemical plating processes and surface-treatment techniques.
- Familiarity with PLC-based automation and standard industrial instrumentation.
- Understanding of chemical safety, handling of corrosive liquids and hazardous-waste procedures.
- Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams and equipment schematics.
Skills
Experience
Several years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, preferably within electroplating, surface treatment or precision manufacturing environments; experience of working with automated plating lines and PLC controls is highly desirable.
Education
Apprenticeship or vocational qualification in electromechanics, industrial maintenance, mechatronics or a related technical discipline; additional formal training in surface treatments or chemistry is advantageous.
