Rolex in Geneva seeks an Electroplater to perform precious-metal plating and surface finishing for haute horlogerie components.
Role & Responsibilities
- Execute electroplating and surface finishing processes (including nickel, rhodium and precious-metal platings) to exacting specifications for watch components.
- Prepare and pretreat metal surfaces (cleaning, degreasing, activation) and set up plating baths and equipment according to established recipes.
- Monitor and control process parameters (current density, temperature, bath chemistry) and perform routine bath maintenance and replenishment.
- Measure and verify plating thickness and composition using XRF, coulometry or equivalent metrology, and record results in quality documentation.
- Conduct visual and microscopic inspection of plated parts; identify defects and take corrective action or escalate to engineering/R&D.
- Maintain strict compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures for chemical handling and waste disposal.
- Troubleshoot plating processes and collaborate with production, quality and engineering teams to implement continuous improvements.
- Keep accurate production records, batch logs and nonconformance reports in accordance with ISO and internal quality systems.
Qualifications
- Vocational diploma or apprenticeship in metalwork, watchmaking, electroplating, chemical technology or equivalent technical training.
- Practical knowledge of electrochemistry and metal finishing processes, ideally applied to small precision components.
- Demonstrable experience with bath preparation, maintenance and control of precious-metal plating solutions.
- Proven ability to perform precise measurement using XRF, coulometry or equivalent thickness control techniques.
- Strong manual dexterity, attention to micrometric tolerances and excellent visual inspection skills.
- Familiarity with chemical safety, PPE usage and safe handling/disposal of plating reagents.
- Working knowledge of French and English desirable for production environment communication.

Preferably 2–5 years of hands-on experience in electroplating or precision metal finishing, ideally within watchmaking, jewelry or high-precision manufacturing environments.
Education
Vocational diploma / apprenticeship in metalworking, watchmaking, electroplating or an equivalent technical qualification.
