Rolex seeks an Eco‑design Engineer in Geneva to drive product sustainability through LCA, material innovation and eco‑design guidance.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Integrate environmental criteria at the earliest stages of product and process design to reduce life‑cycle impacts and guide design teams in implementation.
  • Perform and interpret life cycle assessments (LCA) to quantify environmental impacts and inform material and process decisions.
  • Propose technically viable, innovative materials and manufacturing solutions that lower environmental footprint while preserving product quality and cost targets.
  • Support and coach multidisciplinary design and production teams in eco‑design methodologies and sustainable choices.
  • Balance sustainability objectives with other product constraints (quality, reliability, manufacturability and cost).
  • Monitor regulatory developments and emerging technologies to translate them into actionable improvements for products and processes.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree from EPF/HES or equivalent; a minor or specialization in sustainability is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of materials and industrial processes relevant to precision manufacturing.
  • Demonstrable expertise in eco‑design methodologies and the practical application of LCA results.
  • Track record proposing material or process innovations that improve environmental performance without compromising product requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and pedagogical skills; ability to translate complex environmental topics into pragmatic solutions for design teams.
  • Curiosity, perseverance and a collaborative mindset.
