Rolex is hiring a Designer in Geneva to develop watch products that combine heritage, technical excellence and manufacturability.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conceive and develop aesthetic and functional watch designs from concept through detailed execution, including cases, dials, hands and bracelets.
- Produce sketches, technical drawings and 3D models to communicate design intent and ensure manufacturability.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, prototypists, materials specialists and production ateliers to translate concepts into serially producible components.
- Select and specify materials, finishes and surface treatments consistent with luxury watchmaking standards and technical constraints.
- Participate in prototype reviews and iterative sampling, driving refinements to meet performance, durability and ergonomic requirements.
- Present design proposals to internal committees and stakeholders, justifying aesthetic and technical choices within brand heritage guidelines.
- Maintain accurate design documentation and specifications for handover to tooling, machining and assembly teams.
- Monitor competitive and technical trends in horology, materials and finishing techniques to inspire future developments.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in industrial/product design, transportation/product engineering, horology or equivalent vocational qualification.
- Demonstrable portfolio of product-design work, ideally including watches or precision mechanical products.
- Strong proficiency in technical drawing and 3D visualization; experience producing manufacturable design documentation.
- Deep understanding of materials and finishing techniques used in high-end watchmaking (metals, coatings, gem-setting considerations).
- Excellent cross-disciplinary collaboration skills with engineers and workshop specialists; attention to tolerance and assembly constraints.
- Fluency in a professional design language and ability to present work clearly to senior stakeholders.

Mid-level candidate with typically 3+ years of professional experience in product or watch design, including hands-on involvement in prototype cycles and production transfers.
Education
Bachelor's degree or higher in industrial/product design, engineering, horology or equivalent professional qualification; watchmaking diplomas or vocational certificates are advantageous.
