Rolex seeks Customs Broker & Freight Forwarder in Geneva, CH. Ensure compliance with HS codes, preferential origins, and trade regulations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis to assign appropriate HS codes to product articles, ensuring accurate tariff classification
- Examine product technical specifications to guarantee correct classification and maintain consistency across import and export documentation
- Control the coherence of HS codes on import/export documents and maintain an updated internal database of tariff classifications
- Identify and report risks related to classification, fiscal impact, or regulatory non-compliance
- Verify eligibility of merchandise for preferential origin regimes and control proof-of-origin and supporting documentation
- Prepare and monitor certificates and origin declarations as necessary, ensuring application of preferential agreements according to countries of provenance and destination
- Ensure application of customs regulations within international trade flows and conduct regulatory monitoring on customs, HS codes, and origin rules
- Advise internal teams and alert them to risks of non-compliance; participate in continuous improvement of internal customs processes and procedures
- Serve as liaison with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and competent authorities
- Provide support to logistics, supply chain, sales administration, procurement, quality, and finance teams, guaranteeing the quality and consistency of customs information shared with internal and external partners
Qualifications
- Holder of Swiss federal diploma or equivalent certification as customs declarant
- Confirmed experience in customs, import/export, and customs regulations, ideally with a shipper or goods producer
- Solid knowledge of tariff classification, origin rules, and preferential origins
- Demonstrated experience liaising with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs authorities
- Capacity to review and validate commercial, shipping, and clearance documents
- Supplementary training in international trade, logistics, supply chain, or customs regulation is advantageous
Skills
Experience
Confirmed experience in customs, import/export operations, and customs regulations, preferably gained with a goods-producing shipper. Demonstrated proficiency with international trade flows, documentary requirements, and shipping operations. Strong working knowledge of customs authorities, freight forwarding practices, and cross-border commerce protocols.
Education
Swiss federal diploma or equivalent certification as customs declarant (Brevet fédéral de déclarant en douane). Supplementary training in international commerce, logistics, supply chain management, or customs regulation constitutes an asset.
