Role & Responsibilities
- Learn assembly and finishing techniques for watch components and movements under the supervision of master technicians.
- Operate and assist with precision micromechanical tools and small-scale production equipment in accordance with workshop procedures.
- Carry out quality-control checks using loupes, micrometers and calibers and document inspection results.
- Follow prescribed cleaning, lubrication and handling protocols for delicate components.
- Read and apply technical drawings, assembly instructions and process sheets.
- Maintain a clean, organised workstation and adhere to safety and contamination-control standards.
- Participate in formal vocational training modules and on-the-job learning activities; complete practical assessments required for the AFP qualification.
Qualifications
- Eligible for vocational apprenticeship (AFP) in watchmaking / horology; completion of compulsory schooling.
- Demonstrable manual dexterity and fine motor control; steady hand and excellent hand–eye coordination.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to repetitive precision tasks.
- Basic numeracy and ability to read technical drawings; interest in mechanical systems.
- Willingness to commit to a multi-year apprenticeship and to follow structured classroom and workshop instruction.
- Legal authorization to work in Switzerland (where applicable).

No prior professional watchmaking experience required; prior school projects, technical internships or hobbyist exposure to fine mechanics is advantageous but not mandatory.
