Role & Responsibilities

  • Undertake a structured apprenticeship leading to the Swiss CFC qualification in metal construction, combining on‑the‑job training with vocational school attendance.
  • Assist skilled metalworkers in the fabrication, shaping and finishing of metallic components used in high‑precision watchmaking.
  • Operate and learn to set up conventional and CNC machine tools under supervision (milling, turning, drilling) and perform routine maintenance and checks.
  • Interpret technical drawings and work instructions; apply precision measuring techniques to verify tolerances using micrometers, calipers and gauges.
  • Perform metal joining and finishing operations (e.g., welding, soldering, deburring, polishing) while adhering to strict quality standards.
  • Follow safety and housekeeping procedures, maintain tooling and consumables, and document work per internal process requirements.

Qualifications

  • Completed compulsory schooling (or equivalent) with eligibility for Swiss apprenticeship programmes.
  • Strong manual dexterity, fine motor control and good visual acuity for precision work.
  • Demonstrated interest in metalworking, mechanical trades or technical crafts; practical school projects or hobby experience advantageous.
  • Good numeracy and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
