RIMOWA (Cologne) seeks a Working Student, Soft Components Prototypist — part‑time temporary role supporting prototyping and product development.
Role & Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality soft-component mock-ups and prototypes in support of Product Development and Innovation projects, working to defined specifications.
- Analyse prototype requests, align deliverables with requesters and the Technical Manager, and translate requirements into physical and digital outputs.
- Support the Technical Manager in defining technical concepts, materials and construction methods for soft components.
- Plan and organise fulfilment of prototype requests, including resource planning (materials, equipment, manpower) and workshop scheduling.
- Coordinate procurement of prototype-related materials and services in collaboration with the Technical Manager.
- Assist with the daily organisation and coordination of workshop activities, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a university programme in technical design, engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Initial hands-on experience in prototyping or workshop practice is advantageous.
- Strong project management aptitude with the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver multiple requests.
- Proactive, methodical and detail-oriented approach to practical problem solving.
- Fluent English; German language skills are a plus.

Experience
Minimum 3 years of relevant practical experience or prior hands‑on involvement in prototyping, product development or technical workshops is expected or preferred.
Education
Enrolled university student in technical design, engineering or a related field.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position is EUR 14 per hour.
