RIMOWA seeks Senior Coordinator Overseas Logistics in Cologne, Germany—manage export/import operations, customs compliance, and global supply chains in hybrid role.
Role & Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all export and import operations in compliance with customs and foreign trade regulations
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor international shipments from order entry through timely delivery to customers or global distribution hubs
- Create, review, and maintain all required shipping and customs documentation including commercial invoices, freight papers, packing lists, customs declarations, and certificates of origin
- Coordinate communication between freight forwarders, warehouse service providers, customs authorities, and external partners
- Proactively monitor shipments and resolve supply chain disruptions swiftly and pragmatically
- Analyze existing processes and identify optimization opportunities to reduce costs, lead times, and operational risks
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless shipment preparation and execution, particularly for international air and sea freight operations
- Handle transport-related claims and damage cases with professionalism and solution-oriented approach
- Prepare reports and analyses to assess and continuously improve logistics performance
- Support implementation of new processes, standards, and logistics projects
Qualifications
- Completed vocational training or degree in international logistics, freight forwarding, or foreign trade; Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification preferred
- Proficient knowledge of customs and foreign trade regulations and international logistics markets, particularly air and sea freight
- Fluent English proficiency in written and spoken communication; additional languages advantageous
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and ability to quickly master new systems and applications
- Self-directed, structured, solution-oriented, and pragmatic work approach
Skills
Experience
Minimum five years of professional experience in export and import operations, ideally in an international company and in a supervisory or lead capacity. At least three years in a related logistics coordinator or senior operational role.
Education
Completed vocational training or degree in international logistics, freight forwarding, or foreign trade; Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification is advantageous.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
