RIMOWA is hiring a Procurement Planner in Cambridge, ON to manage materials planning, supplier execution and inventory strategies for its production site.
Role & Responsibilities
- Plan and release supply requirements via MRP/ERP to meet production schedules while balancing inventory, lead times and cost targets.
- Manage open purchase orders and supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery and resolve day-to-day PO, invoice, quality and logistics exceptions.
- Expedite or defer orders and coordinate inter-company material transfers to sustain uninterrupted production flow across Cambridge sites.
- Define and optimize inventory policies (safety stock, MOQ, lead time settings) and maintain material master planning parameters.
- Coordinate material flows for product/BOM changes, engineering change orders and new product launches to minimise obsolescence and supply risk.
- Develop and maintain operational supplier relationships; support onboarding of local suppliers and assess supplier compliance with environmental standards.
- Apply analytics to monitor service levels, identify cost-reduction opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and plant scheduling.
- Provide operational backup support across shipping, receiving, material handling and other supply-chain functions as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supply chain role supporting a direct manufacturer, with hands-on responsibility for materials planning and procurement.
- Applied expertise in forecasting, MRP/ERP-driven planning, inventory management, bills of material and procure-to-pay processes.
- Proven ability to manage supplier relationships, resolve supply disruptions and coordinate change management for new product introductions.
- Fluent English (oral and written) required; working knowledge of French and/or German considered an asset.
- Certifications such as CPIM/APICS preferred; CPSM, CPPB or SCMP considered an asset.

Experience
Minimum five years' progressive experience in procurement, materials planning or supply chain for a direct manufacturer, with demonstrated ownership of MRP/ERP planning, supplier management and inventory optimisation.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
