RIMOWA (Cologne) seeks a Legal Trainee (Referendar) for a Wahlstation in the Legal Department — full-time internship in corporate, labour or sustainability law.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support drafting, review and negotiation of commercial agreements and other contracts relevant to global business operations.
- Respond to legal inquiries from diverse business units and provide practical, exam-relevant analyses under supervision.
- Work cross-functionally with Procurement, Finance, HR, Operations, PR and Marketing to align commercial initiatives with legal requirements.
- Assist in identification, assessment and mitigation of legal risks and contribute to compliance monitoring across jurisdictions.
- Participate in projects on corporate law, employment law or sustainability & regulatory matters and deliver research and briefing documents for the legal team.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of the First State Law Examination (Erstes Staatsexamen) with above-average results.
- Eligibility to undertake the Wahlstation (legal clerkship) and availability for a full-time placement in Cologne.
- Demonstrable interest in corporate law, labour law or sustainability & regulatory affairs within a commercial context.
- Very good command of English (written and spoken); French language skills are advantageous.
- Strong analytical capacity, rapid comprehension, excellent communication skills and an independent, hands-on working style.
