The Junior Accountant supports RIMOWA’s Finance function through daily cash management, revenue matching, provincial sales tax compliance, and accurate accounting records. Responsibilities include reconciliations, month-end close, inventory valuation and SKU pricing, invoice processing in Esker, reporting, and audit support. This is a full-time permanent, on-site role with a 40-hour workweek and an 8-hour shift.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations.
  • Match revenue transactions to bank deposits and general ledger records, and promptly investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and file provincial sales tax returns for all applicable jurisdictions.
  • Maintain accurate supporting schedules and meet recurring filing deadlines.
  • Support month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records.
  • Assist with ad hoc accounting, reporting, and audit requests.
  • Support periodic inventory valuation activities.
  • Maintain and analyze SKU pricing information.
  • Provide supporting documentation for inventory and pricing reviews.
  • Download invoices from carrier portals.
  • Code invoices in Esker using appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Support the Finance team and other business areas with documentation, audits, and related accounting activities.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • One to two years of accounting experience, including internships or corporate experience.
  • Experience with daily bank reconciliations and revenue transaction matching.
  • Experience supporting month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, or variance analysis.
  • Exposure to sales tax compliance and recurring regulatory filing deadlines.
  • Experience supporting inventory valuation, pricing, invoice processing, or audit activities.

Compensation

The base compensation for this position ranges from CAD 51,000 to CAD 65,000 per annum.
