RIMOWA seeks an IP Counsel in Cologne, Germany to manage brand protection, anti-counterfeiting, and IP legal advisory for the luxury luggage maison.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage and support implementation of enforcement actions against third-party IP infringements, with particular focus on online platforms and social media networks, in collaboration with internal and external resources
- Oversee IP infringement litigation and enforcement strategies; manage disputes with external counsel and authorities
- Contribute to planning and execution of customs interventions and authority-led enforcement activities related to IP infringements
- Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related commercial agreements with photographers, creatives, marketing agencies, and collaboration partners
- Provide legal advice on day-to-day commercial operations and business initiatives with IP implications
- Ensure compliance with global IP laws and treaties; assess and mitigate IP risks in business operations, including marketing activities such as influencer marketing
- Partner with product, design, R&D, marketing, and brand protection teams; collaborate with external IP counsel, authorities, and industry associations
- Train internal teams on IP awareness, IP contracts, and enforcement practices
Qualifications
- Above-average law degree, preferably from a German university (comparable international law degrees acceptable)
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in an industrial company or private law firm
- Demonstrated expertise in IP law with proven experience drafting IP-related contracts
- Native or near-native German language proficiency; business-fluent written and spoken English
- In-depth knowledge of French (advantageous)
- Strong understanding of economic relationships
- Negotiation skills with confident and persuasive manner

Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in an industrial company; alternatively, experience in a private law firm with focus on IP matters.
Education
Above-average law degree, preferably from a German university, though comparable international law degrees are acceptable.
