RIMOWA seeks an Industrial Engineer in Toronto, Canada to lead lean manufacturing and process optimisation at its luxury goods production facility.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead workstation and assembly cell design, ergonomics and layout optimization to meet high-precision luxury production standards.
- Plan and execute production efficiency projects using Value Stream Mapping, time studies and headcount rationalization to increase throughput and reduce waste.
- Develop and implement Lean Management strategies; train and coach employees and leaders in Lean methodologies and CI tools.
- Design, pilot and standardize manufacturing processes for new and existing products, coordinating cross-functional teams and external equipment vendors.
- Collect, analyse and report production and process metrics (lead time, throughput, bottlenecks); recommend data-driven corrective actions and track KPI improvements.
- Perform cost-benefit analyses to justify process changes, automation investments and capital expenditure requests.
- Act as change manager to secure stakeholder buy-in and embed sustainable continuous improvement practices across the plant.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing; experience in luxury goods or high‑precision production preferred.
- Proven track record implementing Lean methodologies and continuous improvement programmes.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience using AutoCAD for plant layout and workstation updates.
- Sigma Green Belt certification and/or demonstrated automation experience considered a strong asset.
