RIMOWA seeks a Global Technology Engineer (Metal Materials) in Cologne, Germany — lead metal-process engineering and digitalisation across global factories.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define and implement long-term technology strategies for the global plant network with an emphasis on metal technologies, validating investment plans and business cases.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive developments to identify technology opportunities and risks; conduct feasibility studies and implementation assessments.
- Lead and coordinate multi-site engineering projects across Germany, the Czech Republic and Canada, including scope definition, budgeting, timeline management and progress monitoring.
- Integrate new technologies and production capabilities into existing lines, and support development of new production assets with clear KPIs and quality controls.
- Drive digitalization initiatives for manufacturing operations, identifying requirements and contributing to global digital strategy and best-practice alignment.
- Ensure compliance with local and international safety, quality and environmental regulations for all technology rollouts.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Innovation, Development and Industrial teams to translate product requirements into industrial processes and assets.
- Communicate project status and technical recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders, senior management and board members.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience in manufacturing/production engineering, with demonstrable knowledge of metal production processes; specialization in metal forming is advantageous.
- Proven project management capability, including experience with Agile and/or Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Strong analytical, structured working methods and advanced problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change, excellent interpersonal skills and experience working in intercultural or international environments.
- Fluent German and English for international communication; willingness to travel internationally (approx. 25–30%).

Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or equivalent.
